@Blacktoe You have a small way of thinking. He IS first. You call him whiney, jealous, petty, and horrid but you are only projecting your own limitations upon him because you rage against him. God is first, supreme, he gives life and it is his to take away, our existence is due to him. Your also referencing the past when sins had to be forgiven through blood, because our sins were in our blood.It became Lambs because of His love for man, and later Jesus became the sacrifice for all.

@Metool2 Listen, there may very well be a creator of the universe. But I can assure you, it is not that whiny, jealous, put me first and kill your kid jackass that's written in those books. That god displays the same petty emotions and horrid morals of humans, because he was created by them.(That's kind of insulting to humans, because I know that most of us would never consider forcing someone to murder their child to prove they love us.)

@Blacktoe God is your creator, THE creator, he gave you and your family life and rules all things. You give respect to him first and foremost because of that, because he has given us everything. Abraham never had to slay his son, he didn't wish to but was willing to do so in service to God and showed his loyalty with which he was rewarded. Now we don't even have to make sacrifices thanks to Jesus making himself the ultimate sacrifice. But if you can only worship him when convenient..

@Metool2 Why would Jesus want you to love him more than your family or yourself? That doesn't sound like a divine all powerful being. It sounds like Micheal Scott from the Office. When God asks Abraham to slay his son, he seems to have no problem with it. Slaying your innocent child to prove loyalty?! That is fucked up.That is not the type of person I ever wish to become.

@Blacktoe You're assuming loving Jesus means you can't love your family, whereas that only says Jesus should come first above all things, your family after but still above others. JOY is Jesus first, Others second [including your family], and Yourself last.
